The Senior Manager, Maintenance will have primary responsibility for providing technical support and guidance to maintenance, operations and engineering as needed to resolve mechanical and other related equipment problems.  Propose capital improved projects required to improve equipment reliability and safety.  Track necessary metrics to identify improvement opportunities, analyze trends and recommend solutions.  Participate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and others as needed to develop and implement improvements to work processes to ensure operating units run with maximum availability.  The incumbent will need to have experience working in the aseptic pharmaceutical manufacturing setting with demonstrated success in a cross-functional team environment.  This role includes collaboration with site and global manufacturing, finance, engineering, IT and quality functional resources. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides technical support, guidance, direction and leadership in the design and implementation of mechanical equipment and systems. Responsible for the timely resolution of technical issues. Overall team leadership of 35 (5 direct) which includes setting individual/team goals, ensuring employee development, providing on-going coaching and feedback, recognizing employees for their contributions, enabling meaningful career experiences and creating an inclusive and safe work environment Track necessary metrics to identify improvement opportunities, notice certain trends, and ensure needs are met. Works with Project Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans. Participates in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications. Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems. Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines an Asset Maintenance Plan that includes: Value-added preventive maintenance tasks Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems Provides input to a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related, and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation. Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues. Good written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external personnel providing timely information to avoid production delays.  This includes timely, accurate, and neat completion of documentation, such as work orders and reports that meet GMP requirements. Must be a safety champion to ensure that all work is completed with no injuries. If necessary, provide hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical and related equipment problems (both fixed and rotating).



Qualifications

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college. The individual must have a minimum of 10-years of experience in the traditional clean room aseptic pharmaceutical industry. Capability to implement and maintain a reliability engineering program is required. Aseptic process equipment maintenance experience is required. Facility equipment maintenance experience is required. Packaging equipment experience is required. CMMS experience is required. Experience with RABs is preferred. CCMS experience is beneficial. Excellent communications skills in oral, written, and presentation situations providing clear, informative, and persuasive communication in positive and negative scenarios. Good analytical and computer skills required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
Highly visible plant leadership role that will have direct impact on the success of our business.  This role is responsible for 3 direct reports overseeing packaging equip, process equip and facility equipment, with a total team of 35.  Will need to have strong people management skills and be able to build a highly effective team.  This role will assess and modify maintenance systems with the end goal of minimizing downtime.  Previous experience as a Reliability engineer is crucial.  Candidate must have sterile injectable product manufacturing experience.
