Job Description
Company is supporting the Department of Defense (DoD) in Arlington, VA on a 5-year contract. In support of the National Guard Bureau (NGB) National Capital Region (NCR) Network Enterprise Center (NEC) contract, the candidate will report to the Program Manager and provide on-site (Arlington, VA) support to the Army National Guard Information Operations Division (ARNG-IMO). The candidate will function within an engineering team and must meet minimum experience requirements of three (3) years network design and support; two (2) years IT project management; and two (2) years of ITIL Service Design Coordination. The Service Design and Projects Engineer will perform engineering design and support tasks to develop new IT services and improve existing services. The candidate must have a strong understanding of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework and the Service Design processes. The Service Design and Projects Engineer is accountable for the following activities:

Responsibilities:
· Identify and automate regular/daily processes, track new and reoccurring issues, and document changes defined by the organization's change management process.
· Network engineering of Cisco switch and router infrastructure.
· Hardening of network infrastructure based on DISA STIGs.
· LAN design with experience building network engineering implementation plans.
· Support release deployment activities and provide early life support.
· Coordinate and monitor technical IT infrastructure projects from initiation through delivery.
· Gather requirements from customers and other stakeholders to evaluate objectives, goals, and scope to create technical specifications.
· Serve as liaison between technical staff and management to ensure that all targets and requirements are met.
· Plan design activities in detail, making sure that all relevant aspects are considered during the design phase.
· Responsible for ensuring a service design package is submitted for final review and initiate implementation of the service by submitting a Request for Change (RFC) through the organization's change management process.
· Ensure technical projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
· Keep leadership informed of key issues that may impact project completion, budget, or planned results.
· Work with minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
· Coordinate project schedule and provide required staff support with the integrated master schedule and resource managers.

It is required that the Service Design and Projects Engineer have the qualifications and certifications listed below:
· ITIL v3 Foundation Certification
· DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification
o Preferably CompTIA Security + ce
· Minimum three years of Network Engineering and support experience
· Minimum two years of IT Project Management experience
· Minimum two years of ITIL Service Design Coordination experience

Desired Qualifications and Skills:
It is desirable that the candidate has the following qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree in related technical field of study
