The candidate will participate in a multi-disciplinary team dedicated to the writing a new database to database transfer services solution to guarantee delivery of prescription data. The Candidate will be required to support requirements, design and development to accomplish the following:

  • Database to Database Transfer
  • Monitoring activity
  • Ability Start and Stop individual services for each CMOP thru API
  • Support new Electronic Health Record (EHR) Cerner interface as well as existing VistA format
  • Self-correcting (able to restart any failed communication) capability
  • Create a Transfer database to support new Cerner (HER) format as well as existing VistA (HL7) format.
  • Setup a SSIS package to handle the transfer to/from each Transfer database and CDB.
  • Create import/export routines to move data from Transfer database to local CMOP database.
  • Create monitoring tables to track the status of the transfers.
  • Enhance local CMOP databases to support the new Cerner fields as well as track Cerner vs. VistA.



  • High level knowledge of SQL - indexes, normalization, schemas, stored procedures, and triggers
  • Ability to write technical specifications
  • Develop solutions that integrate with existing architecture
  • Program using industry standard methods.
  • Work in a team environment with other developers, testers, production support staff, business users, and other internal teams as well as periodic external partners.


Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Expert T-SQL and analysis skills
  • Strong database development skills MS SQL 2014+
  • Strong SSIS and ETL skills
  • Experience with Visual studio 2015/2017
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server 2015
  • Some experience with .net and C#; 4.5+
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a VA designated High-Risk Background Investigation (BI)

**All candidates must live within 90 miles from any of the following locations, due to support services that may be required on site at the CMOP Facility. **

  • Experience with HL7
  • Experience with VistA framework
  • Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2012/2015
  • Mid-Tier Application Servers (IIS 7)
