Description

Summary:
In this role, you will work with New Product Development (NPD) Core Teams to architect and maintain assumption based – stochastic business cases to improve project and portfolio risk management and overall investment allocation. You will also participate in the creation and maintenance of the multi-year generational product and technology roadmap, ensuring investment alignment with project budget forecasts and available investment is maintained.
 

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with program and portfolio management teams to develop and provide senior business leadership the information necessary to appropriately allocate R&D investments – providing portfolio visibility to active and proposed projects that include financial, strategic alignment, risk, probability of technical success, and probability of commercial success measures
Take an active leadership role in portfolio strategy development and investment allocation, generating creative, action-oriented insights and recommendations for the business
Participate in the creation and maintenance of the multi-year generational product and technology roadmaps, ensuring investment alignment with project budget forecasts and available investment
Work with New Product Development (NPD) Core Teams to architect and maintain assumption based – stochastic business cases that improve project and portfolio risk management and overall investment decision making
Ensures NPD business case alignment to product value propositions, program scope, and product strategies
Coach and mentor Core Team Leaders and members on assumption-based business case development and management – reducing the commercial risks early while maximizing the likelihood of project success
Ensure effective and efficient regular formal and informal communications with the Program and Portfolio Management and NPD Core Teams using a variety of tools and channels
Ensures compliance with the company's global innovation and product development processes



Qualifications

Qualifications:
Proven expertise in portfolio strategy development and investment allocation recommendation for a large new product development portfolio (>$100M of investment)
Experience developing and managing stochastic business cases for hardware and software product development core teams
Demonstrated ability to successfully influence people and teams at all levels without direct authority
Proven success building employee engagement; creating, communicating and building understanding of a shared portfolio vision

Minimum Qualifications
Candidate Details:
7+ to 10 years' experience
Seniority Level - Mid-Senior
Management Experience Required - Yes
Minimum Education - Bachelor's Degree
Willingness to Travel – Occasionally
 

Must Haves:
Bachelor of Science degree in computational mathematics, economics or engineering with a minimum of 8–years relevant experience in new product and portfolio management.
MBA with a strong focus on technology commercialization and computational simulation
Managing large global teams
Developing and implementing tools and systems for resource management
Experience in Med Tech industries with capital hardware and IaaS / SaaS software solutions is preferred
Venture Capital or Private Equity experience is a plus
Developing business plan
Direct people management
Track record of results
