Description

Our Claims Operations Department has a challenging opportunity for a Senior Claims Analyst. The primary purpose of this position is to manage the reporting calendar and complete data analysis and manipulation. This enthusiastic, self-motivated individual will be part of a team-oriented environment in the Claims Operations Department that reports to our Compliance & Data Manager who works in the Scottsdale, Arizona office.

 

Responsibilities:
Manages the Reporting Calendar to ensure an equitable distribution of work within data team
Conducts data mining & data lineage analysis and supports U.S. Claims compliance with governance related directives
Compiles compliance focused reports and distributes to appropriate jurisdictions on specified timeframes
Mentors claims analyst staff and ensures team collaboration on data and compliance related initiatives
Assists Claims Compliance and Data Manager with projects on an as-needed basis



Qualifications

Qualifications:
In addition to the specific qualifications noted below, attitude and aptitude will be primary qualifications for this role.
Strong consideration will be provided for individuals with an aptitude for technology.
Must have good business acumen (i.e. understand how an insurance company works and makes money, including how this role impacts both Argo Group and our customers' ability to be profitable).
Ability to perform work under moderate supervision and work within specific limits and authority on assignments of moderate technical complexity. This typically requires 1-3 years' prior work experience in a Business Analyst Capacity - focused in a claims environment or other equivalent experience working with data gathering and analysis.
College degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Insurance or similar field is required.
Proficient in MS Office Suite (particularly Access and Excel) and other business-related software.

Prior experience with data profiling software is required, specifically:
Ability to read, understand and develop SQL code
Experience with data mining and profiling along with an ability to perform analysis across data groups
Ability to quickly evaluate the accuracy of data and information.
Analytically minded and exceptional organizational abilities.
Ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks. Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Able to work directly with internal and external partners
Exhibit a natural curiosity.
Desire to work in a fast paced environment.
Must possess a strong customer focus.
Polished and professional written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to read and write English fluently is required.
