JOB SUMMARY
It is the Packaging manager's responsibility to ensure that the packaging equipment's used for are clean and set up properly and the equipment's are in calibrated state before the use of packaging. It is Packaging manager's responsibility to monitor and review visual and physical checks of in-process and finished materials are as per procedure of Packaging Batch Record.
Manager's responsibility includes:
1. Based on purchase order and forecast review market supply requirements and develop and execute packaging plan and shall ensure that the packaging operations are carried out in a productive and efficient way.
2. Oversee the utilization of packaging equipment/ instrumentation to package/process drug products in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations, company policies and procedures and safety Codes.
3. Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) FDA inspection and all other related regulatory guidelines.
4. Plan, develop and execute and the professional training of packaging staff to ensure compliance of GMP and safety regulations, policies and procedures.
5. Invest and resolve process issues in the packaging area. Recommend and implement measures that result in continuous improvement in packaging process.
6. Develop, revise and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
7. Maintain inventories and initiate procurement of various operating supplies in the faculty.
8. Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration activities/ requirements to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
9. Direct and monitor department Leads/Supervisors to accomplish goals of the packaging plan, consistent with established packaging and safety procedures.
10. Direct and coordinate various programmes essential to packaging procedures (e.g. training, safety, housekeeping cost reduction, worker involvement security, etc.)
11. Lead the smooth transfer of new product packaging introductions into commercial operations and ensure that staff are suitably and fully trained in both the process technologies and key process parameters relevant to all new products.
12. Manages all packaging operations of the assigned packaging facility; ensures that all operations comply with current Good Manufacturing Procedures, reviews and approves Standard Operating Procedures for all plant operations, and monitors training and enforcement to ensure SOPs are followed.
13. Monitors packaging schedules and adjusts staffing to meet these schedules and work effectively in a team environment, and lead a multi-shift operation.
14. Physical Work Activities and Exposure:
a. Work is regularly performed inside in a manufacturing environment.
b. Exposure to dust, odor, noise, and fumes.
c. The noise level is usually moderate.
d. If required lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and if required occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
e. Frequent sitting, talking, or hearing.
f. Use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects or controls.
g. Walk short distances.
 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
All Packaging Employees and lead employees will report to Packaging Manager.
 

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS PERCENT OF TIME FREQUENCY ESSENTIAL DUTIES
60% - Daily - To check packaging activities according procedure and Packaging Batch Record and make -sure the Packaging is running according to procedure.
20% - Daily - To Prepare the Sop's for new equipment's and revise it whenever required. To prepare change controls whenever required and complete it on time. To initiate change incidents and deviation and complete it within the time limits of procedures. To prepare the production documents according to procedures and complete it on time.
20% - Daily - To train and monitor Packaging Employees.

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform any and all additional tasks relating to the operation of the manufacturing department as requested.
- And perform other duties as assigned



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
Educational background: Graduate – BS e.g. Bachelor of Pharmacy,
REQUIRED
Work experience:
- Prefer minimum three (5) year of work experience in a pharmaceutical packaging environment.
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Effective communication skills, including demonstrated leadership ability and well developed oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, and lead a multi-shift operation.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to understand and interpret operating data such as packaging metrics (output), budget, safety, and quality (GMPs).
- Ability to develop systems to support continuous improvement initiatives that support packaging, quality, and safety.
- Bachelor's Degree in pharmacy / Engineering, Business or other closely aligned field is required; in lieu of a degree consideration may be given to those who hold 5+ years of relevant professional experience, including 3 years of full supervisory experience including budget management.
- Experience with managing operations employees at various levels.
