ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
% OF TIME FREQUENCY ESSENTIAL DUTIES

50 - Daily - Identify, analyze, forecast and complete product and company acquisition, inlicensing and co-promote deals
30 - Daily - Chair and champion product development through to filing whether internal candidate or through alliance management with external partners
10 - Daily - Maintain close working relations with internal and external partners to facilitate continous piepline development
10 - Daily - Develop and mentor Business Development Analyst

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
The VP will have to continuously monitor new product and company opportunities on a global basis in the identified areas of interest. The role will identify acquisition targets, collaboration opportunities and technology platforms via interactions with research-based pharma companies, biotech companies, government agencies, and academic institutions. The VP will establish and maintain contacts with Research Heads, CEOs, and Heads of Business Development of outside companies, venture capital groups, investment banks and leading university scientists. The VP could deliver presentations on behalf of Acrotech Biopharma at industry networking events, scientific conferences, and other venues to further the partnering opportunities for the company.The VP will perform detailed scientific analyses for pre-clinical, Phase I, Phase II, Phase III and registered assets on a global basis but primarily for the US market. The role will analyze and evaluate the full range of data, including primary and secondary research to make recommendations to management team. The VP will maintain a comprehensive database of products and companies, decisions made and prioritize organizations as potential candidates for strategic alliances, joint ventures, or for investment. The role has to ensure that the pipeline of the company is always meaningfully filled with viable near term and long term assets. As a part of the portfolio management VP will make go no no-go decisions in close consultation with business partners and President of Acrotech Biopharma. In case the asset is licensed or acquired on a global basis the role will also be responsible for finding suitable partners in OUS markets where Acrotech Biopharma will not launch the product on its own.The VP will continuously educate themselves on the changing healthcare landscape, therapeutic categories, evolving targets in disease states, negotiating tactics and bring fresh thinking and creative partnering and acquisition strategies. The VP will work with medical, regulatory, clinical, legal, finance and other key functions to ensure that project timelines are being met. The VP will manage a large portfolio of complex projects and is responsible for timely responses to existing and potential partners regarding the progress of partnering opportunities. This will be a part of the alliance management responsibility.



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED & REQUIRED
Required: • Graduate degree (Masters) in a life sciences discipline.• At least 8 years of experience in Biotech or Pharmaceuticals industry, with at least 5 years of relevant business development and alliance management experience.• Should have successfully completed an in-licensing opportunity and /or managed an alliance till product approval.• Worked in small and big pharma• Thorough understanding of basic science technologies as applied to medical targets• Broad-based scientific knowledge across human health therapeutic areas.• Ability to identify opportunities where the organization can add value to improve the overall attractiveness of the deal for all parties.• Well versed with the contemporary business development practices and techniques.• Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking.• Strong networking, interpersonal skills and organizational meticulousness.• Strong written and oral communication skills.• Ability to influence decisions or issues that have broad business impact.• Travel required 40% of the time.• Expertise in word, powerpoint, exel and data sources to aid analysis.• Ability to think innovatively and think out of the box• Ability and willingness to roll up the sleeves and get work done• Existing relationships with vendors and external partners as needed to supplement internal capabilities. Preferred:• MD or PhD in a life sciences discipline and MBA or JD• At least 10 years of drug discovery experience in Biotech or Pharmaceuticals industry, with at least 5 years of business development and alliance management experience.• Should have successfully completed an in-licensing opportunity and /or completed acquisition of a company, product or technology.
